That night, the family stays at a hotel and tries to devise a plan. Nick thinks about asking the merfolk to lure the giants to the sea. They find that the mermaids hate land-dwellers and kidnap Jules. To free Jules, the kids bring a unique fish to the mermaids. The mermaids sing but disappear quickly. Nick records their song to use it to lure the giants. Using Nick's model Viking ship and following the route provided by Sandspur, they play the mermaids' song. The giants follow the sound to the sea. The kids return to the hotel and find the Grace kids waiting for them, with news that the giants woke up to kill something worse.
