Bridgerton Books In Order

The series consists of eight books, each focusing on one of the Bridgerton siblings as they navigate the complexities of high society, seek true love, and experience personal growth.

Known for its engaging characters, witty dialogue, and romantic plots, "Bridgerton" combines historical settings with modern sensibilities, offering readers a delightful escape into the world of balls, courtships, and family bonds. The books were adapted into a successful Netflix series, boosting their popularity.

The Duke and I

(Bridgerton, #1)

In 1813, Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, returns to London after a long absence and meets Daphne Bridgerton, the sister of his friend Anthony. To avoid unwanted attention, Simon and Daphne pretend to court each other. Their fake courtship leads to real feelings, but complications arise when Daphne's brother demands that Simon marry her. Ultimately, Simon agrees to marry Daphne but confesses that he can never have children.

Daphne and Simon quickly marry. Violet tries to explain sex to Daphne, who initially believes Simon is impotent. However, they can have fulfilling sex. During their honeymoon, Daphne learns that Simon has been purposefully preventing her from having children by pulling out during sex. This causes a rift between them, and Daphne decides not to have sex with Simon as long as he does not want to have children.
After two months, Daphne informs Simon that she is pregnant, but her period is delayed. They reconcile and decide to start trying for children. In 1817, Daphne gave birth to a boy, David.

In a second epilogue, it is revealed that at 41, Daphne becomes pregnant with a fifth child. She is visited by her brother Colin and his wife, who are seeking advice as they fear their child has a speech impediment. Simon finds nothing of value in letters left by his late father, burns them, and speaks with Daphne about their excitement to become parents again.

The Viscount Who Loved Me

(Bridgerton, #2)

In 1814, Anthony, Viscount Bridgerton, decides to settle down and continue the family line. Meanwhile, Kate Sheffield arrives in London's Ton with her younger half-sister Edwina. Anthony starts courting Edwina, and Kate interferes, leading to their mutual attraction. After several events, Anthony admits to Kate that he loves her.

An Offer from a Gentleman  (Bridgerton, #3)

Sophie Beckett sneaks into Lady Bridgerton’s masquerade ball and meets "Prince Charming,” Benedict Bridgerton. Benedict is captivated by a mysterious maid, whom he’s determined to find and wed despite being blinded by a radiant vision from the ball.

Romancing Mister Bridgerton

(Bridgerton, #4)

In 1813, Lady Whistledown's Society Papers began to be published, and Penelope made her debut. She spent time with Eloise Bridgerton and occasionally encountered Colin, believing her feelings for him were unrequited.
In 1817, Penelope overheard Colin saying he wouldn't marry her, but she played it off with dignity. In 1824, Penelope is considered a spinster at 28, with her mother repeatedly implying that they will live together into old age. Meanwhile, Colin returns from his travels feeling restless and without purpose.

At a party, Colin surprises Penelope, and they talk, but their interaction is interrupted when Lady Danbury announces a contest to unmask Lady Whistledown.
A few days later, Colin catches Penelope reading his travel journal. She is furious, but she helps him when he cuts his hand. They argue about Lady Whistledown's identity and share a kiss. Lady Whistledown retires, and at a ball, Colin arrives to apologize to Penelope, but a claimant emerges. Colin witnesses Penelope's involvement and proposes to her in the end. In the epilogue, Penelope and Colin receive his newly published travel memoir while she works on a novel called The Wallflower.

To Sir Phillip, With Love (Bridgerton, #5)

Sir Phillip knew that Eloise Bridgerton was a spinster, so he’d proposed, figuring that she’d be homely and unassuming and more than a little desperate for an offer of marriage. Except . . . she wasn’t. The beautiful woman on his doorstep was anything but quiet, and when she stopped talking long enough to close her mouth, all he wanted to do was kiss her . . . and more.

When He Was Wicked (Bridgerton, #6)

A moment so tremendous, sharp, and breathtaking that one knows one’s life will never be the same. For Michael Stirling, London’s most infamous rake, that moment came the first time he saw Francesca Bridgerton. After a lifetime of chasing women, of smiling slyly as they chased him, of allowing himself to be caught but never permitting his heart to become engaged, he took one look at Francesca Bridgerton and fell so fast and hard into love it was a wonder he managed to remain standing.

Unfortunately for Michael, however, Francesca’s surname was to remain Bridgerton for only a mere thirty-six hours longer–the occasion of their meeting was, lamentably, a supper celebrating her imminent wedding to his cousin. But that was then... Now Michael is the earl, and Francesca is free, but still, she thinks of him as nothing other than her dear friend and confidant.

Michael dares not speak to her of his love… until one dangerous night when she steps innocently into his arms, and passion proves more potent than even the most wicked secrets...

It's in His Kiss (Bridgerton, #7)

Hyacinth Bridgerton is the youngest of eight. She is also considered one of the most… outspoken of the Bridgertons. So when it’s Hyacinth’s third year on the marriage market, the rest of the Bridgertons become worried. However, when she meets Gareth St. Clair, things change for her. Gareth St. Clair is the grandson of Lady Danbury, but he’s holding back a secret that’s been killing him ever since he found out. Gareth is the illegitimate child from his mother’s love affair. With his mother and brother dead and a father determined to ruin his life, Gareth believes that he’ll never be able to marry Hyacinth Bridgerton. Hyacinth, however—difficult as she may be—might be the only woman for Gareth St. Clair.

On the Way to the Wedding (Bridgerton, #8)

The novel follows Gregory Bridgerton as he falls in love with Hermione, who is in love with someone else. With the help of Hermione's friend Lucy, Gregory and Lucy develop romantic feelings for each other. Lucy is engaged to Lord Haselby in an arranged marriage. Still, it is later revealed that her deceased father was a traitor, and her uncle, not Haselby's family, is the actual traitor. Gregory works to free Lucy from her marriage with Haselby.

The Rokesby Series In Order

Set in the late 1700s, this series follows the aristocratic Rokesby family, who are close friends and neighbors of the Bridgertons.

Because of Miss Bridgerton (The Rokesby Series, #1)

Sometimes, you find love in the most unexpected of places...

This is different from those times.
Everyone expects Billie Bridgerton to marry one of the Rokesby brothers. The two families have been neighbors for centuries, and as a child, the tomboyish Billie ran wild with Edward and Andrew. Either one would make a perfect husband... someday. Sometimes you fall in love with exactly the person you think you should... Or not.

The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband (The Rokesby Series, #2)

Cecilia Harcourt, an orphan, is faced with two difficult choices after her brother Thomas is injured in the Colonies: move in with a maiden aunt or marry a scheming cousin. Instead, she travels across the Atlantic to nurse her brother back to health. After a week of searching, she finds her brother's best friend, Edward Rokesby, who is unconscious and in desperate need of her care. Despite not finding her brother, Cecilia vows to save Edward's life, even if it means telling one little lie.

When Edward wakes up, he is confused as the blow to his head caused him to lose six months of his memory. He is told that Cecilia is his wife, which he accepts despite not recalling marrying her. Cecilia risks her future by committing herself to Edward, but Edward may have surprises for the new Mrs. Rokesby when the truth comes out.

The Other Miss Bridgerton (The Rokesby Series, #3)

This story is about Poppy Bridgerton being kidnapped and taken aboard a pirate ship bound for Portugal. Initially, I was unsure about the storyline, but I was pleasantly surprised by the well-suited relationship between Poppy and Andrew. Their witty dialogue and the unexpected plot twist made the story intriguing and enjoyable.

First Comes Scandal (The Rokesby Series, #4)

Georgie is embroiled in a scandal after being kidnapped for her dowry. Nicholas is asked to marry her to restore her reputation. They face challenges during their honeymoon in Scotland, but their relationship is filled with memorable moments.
