"Wildfire" by Hannah Grace is a fun, flirty summer romance that brings together two people with a complicated past and a lot of unresolved tension. The story revolves around Russ, a wholesome and loveable guy, and Aurora, who is dealing with personal baggage, as they unexpectedly reunite at a summer camp where they both work as counselors. After an impulsive one-night stand and a less-than-satisfying goodbye, their paths cross again under less-than-ideal circumstances—camp rules strictly forbid romantic relationships between counselors.
The book's plot takes an entertaining turn when they try to be "just friends," but as expected, that doesn't last long. Sneaking around becomes their way of navigating the attraction that neither of them can ignore. The camp setting adds a playful backdrop to the sneaky rendezvous and humorous moments that unfold, making it easy to root for them despite their miscommunications.
One of the standout features of "Wildfire" is the found family dynamic and big friend group.
